Tom's Biography

Tom Dennard was born in Pineview, Georgia, attended Davidson College, NC, and graduated from the University of Georgia Law School. He practices law in Brunswick, Georgia, and specializes in Wills, Trusts, and Estates. He teaches these subjects in the Para-Legal School at Coastal Georgia Community College. In 1975, he began the south's first youth hostel outside of Brunswick on a 100 acre tract known as The Hostel in the Forest, and it is still flourishing today.

For many years he taught a backpacking class in the adult education program at the college and has taken his students hiking to a variety of places in various mountains of the U.S., as well as other countries. He has published three books, Discovering Life's Trails, Buzzard's Roost, and Born a Ramblin' Man, and is a regular contributor to Splash Magazine. His wife owns a travel agency, and they travel extensively. Tom and Marie have been married for over 40 years, have three children, Susan, Ted, and Jeff, and an ever increasing number of grandchildren!
